Zuki, an artist and his passion
How many people can claim to have made Céline Dion’s wedding fur coat as well as clothes for Stevie Nicks and Aerosmith’s vocalist Steven Tyler? Zuki can!
From an early age, Zuki was always drawn to arts and fashion. This passion really started in 1974, when he started out in the fur industry. Since then, he never stopped pushing the limits of conventional fashion and every creation is widely considered to be a collector’s item.
Zuki is recognized around the world being at the forefront of fur fashion design. He also invented a technique known as “intarsia”, which consists in inserting small pieces of sheared beaver dyed in a multitude of colors. This allows him to create different motifs and designs. His inspiration comes from everything he sees, from the smallest of details to the largest object, and he is extremely observant. He is a true artist and fur is his canvas.
With his studios located in Montreal, Zuki is an active participant in every step of every single masterpiece in his different collections. Being a fur expert affords him to know all its possibilities and limits. He exports his creations mostly to the United States, Europe, Japan, China, Korea and Russia.
Zuki’s work even be found in Québec. Make it a point to stop by Fourrures du Vieux-Port, located at 55, rue Saint-Pierre or online at www.zuki.com and share his love and passion.
