2011 Spring-Summer fashion trends
The days are getting longer and the urge to get your summer wardrobe updated is getting stronger. As you raid your favourite shops, you will notice that the gypsy look is in virtually all the spring collections.
A major hit last year, flower prints are coming back strong in 2011. These motifs are on most blouses, skirts and even shoes; they give a very feminine look and blend in perfectly with a hippie chic look that's very in this spring.
The 70's look is making a big comeback as well with tunics, dirndls (or peasant dresses), as well as fringed accessories. To avoid falling into the Woodstock look, avoid superimposing styles or look and stay as far as you possibly can from psychedelic motifs. Go for simple and light fabrics that will turn you into a romantic gypsy that no one can resist.
Though leggings are always an integral part of any wardrobe, the spring collections include ample-legged pant, reminiscent of the bellbottoms so typical of the Flower Power years. Adjusted at the waist, these classic and elegant trousers -also known as flares- start widening at the knee. Your figure will only look even better.
