New 2008-2009 Winter fashion trends by Gilles Prêt-à-porter
The new 2008-2009 winter fashion trends are here and they are truly stunning.
Trends for fabrics and prints
Plaid prints, tartan and tweed, just to name a few are coming back strong in our closets. These prints are the perfect complement to dress slacks, skirts and coats.
Combine different shades of grey and its various gradations. Add some black, prune, eggplant or off-white for a look that will turn more than a few heads. Rich knits, such as wool and cashmere are also very popular.
Cuts
This winter, high waist slacks with a small belt are all the rage. We will also see the appearance of the “trigging”, which is a mutation of the “legging”, its ancestor. These tight-fitting garments bear a striking resemblance to tights imitating slim leather pants or opaque lamé leggings and they feel just like a second skin.
Tops
The pull dress and the tunic may be worn by themselves or with a beautiful tregging. They may also be co-ordinated with wool tights and a nice pair of boots.
