Chalmers-Wesley United Church

Built in 1852-1853 based on plans from architect John Wells, the Chalmers-Wesley United Church is characterized by its neogothic architecture and its interior typical of protestant temples, which are centered around Bible readings and the sharing of interpretation of these sacred scriptures.

As you enter the church, you will be fascinated by the wrought-iron lantern and by the ceiling of the portico. Beautiful stained-glass windows made by Fisher and gorgeous woodwork give this church its warmth. The stained-glass windows and the clock come from the old Wesley temple.  The organ occupies the front of the church was built and installed in 1890 and restored by La Maison Casavant in Saint-Hyacinthe and by Guilbault-Thérien in 1982.
