Parc de la Chute-Montmorency

Facing the Island of Orleans, the Montmorency River turns into one of North America's most impressive waterfalls.  Standing 83 meters (270 feet) high, which is 1½ times higher than Niagara Falls, the Montmorency Falls have an average flow of 35,000 liters per second. On this historic site, cable cars, bridges, walkways and vantage points have been built, allowing visitors to go around the falls and see it under a variety of angles.

During the winter, the waterfall becomes a true natural phenomenon thanks to the huge ice cone nicknamed the "sugar loaf". Ample parking and the site is lit at night.  Open year round and special rates are available for groups.
